Customisation is key when creating beautiful, impactful artifacts! That's why we've added a new feature we have added is the ability to colour swimlanes. This gives you the potential to colour code your journey maps to allow for a more organised way to present information.
In this article, we will show you exactly how you can colour your swimlanes in your journey map to match your company's colour branding, subcategorise information, personalise data, or simply to add another dimension to your map. As you know, swimlanes are the foundation of your journey map and they play an important role in the structure of it.
To start, go to your journey map and click on "Structure" at the upper right-hand corner of your screen. The structure panel will show up and you will have the option to add a swimlane or organise it. Under the organise swimlane section, there's a circle right before the name of the swimlane.
When you click on it, it will give you the option to select a colour for that swimlane. You can select any colour you want in the colour wheel or type in the hex code of your colour branding and it will automatically locate that colour. You can also select the selected colorus that we suggest below the hex code.
Also, on the left side, you will see that colour of that swimlane will automatically change. You can do this for any swimlanes you want and adjust everything based on the colour process of your map.
As you can see, the steps are really easy, and adding some colour to your journey map makes it more fun to map your process. We understand that some users love it in a less colourway and some just love to put some art to their journey maps and that is one reason why added this feature. We'd love to provide the best design for both preferences.
